Mr. Jerry Blake Newsome, 79, of Peachland passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Hospice House in Monroe.  Born October 1, 1946, in Anson County, he was the son of the late Charlie Blake Newsome and Ruby Carpenter Newsome. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Jeremy Shane Newsome and siblings, Betty Meachum and Curtis Newsome.

Jerry was a devoted family member whose greatest joy came from spending time with loved ones. Whether gathering for holidays, sharing meals, or simply enjoying each other's company, family was always at the center of his life.  He loved to be outside, and the outdoors provided many of his favorite memories and moments of reflection.  He was known for a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication, Jerry was a hard worker who approached every task with determination, integrity and pride.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jerry will be held 12 noon on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from the graveside of Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11-11:45 in the church fellowship building.

Those left to cherish Jerry's memory include sons, Jody Newsome, Andy Newsome (Monica), Lane Newsome, grandchildren, Caylee Newsome, Mackenzie Bunn (Tyler), Landon Newsome (Sydney), Laikyn Newsome, Blake Newsome; great grandchildren, Colton Hendrix, Hayes Bunn, Collins Bunn and Violet Newsome; sibling, Brenda Yarbrough.
