Polkton- Mr. Jesse Clement Mullis, 71, passed from this life and into his heavenly home on April 20, 2014 at Anson Community Hospital. A native of Peachland, NC, he was the youngest child of the late Theron Lamar Mullis, Sr. and Viola Deese Mullis. Jesse was a retired finishing carpenter and was a member of Peachland Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 1pm Wednesday at Peachland Cemetery. Visitation will follow the service Mr. Mullis was preceded in death by an infant son and brothers: Theron Lamar Mullis, Jr., Warren Mullis, Roland Mullis and George Mullis and two sisters: Josephine Deese and Martha Williams. Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Phyllis Mullis, sisters Peggy Garris of Peachland and Linda Allen of Lancaster, SC as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Word of Life Church, Peachland, NC.
