Marshville – Mr. Jimmy Helms, 83 passed away Saturday May 4, 2019 at his home. Born November 15, 1935 in Union County, he was a son of the late James Hoyle "Bill" Helms and Margie Elizabeth Thomas Helms. He was also preceded in death by brothers Harold, Edwin and Ted Helms.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at Morgan & Son Funeral Home in Marshville.
Mr. Helms is survived by his wife Betty Jo Griffin Helms of the home; son David Helms (Anita) of Monroe, NC; daughter Debbie Baker (Rick) of Marshville; brothers Jessie "Sherrill" Helms (Luci), Robert Helms (Beda) and Charles "CW" Helms (Dale); sisters Geraldine Griffin, Doris Braswell (Johnnie) and Linda McDaniel (William) sisters-in-law Sandra Helms and Mary Ben Carnes; grandchildren Carlyn Baker Isaac (Ron), Leah Helms Mays (Jonathan), Leslie Ann Helms Krygier (Ronnie) and David Graham Helms (Bree); great-grandchildren Kaylin, Codie, Walter and Jarrett.
