Marshville - Mr. Jimmy Smith, 71, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Hospice House in Monroe.  Born June 13, 1949 in Union County, he was the son of the late James Wilson Smith and Hettie Taylor Helms.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jimmy will be 11AM, Friday at the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Karen K. Smith of the home; son, Jimmy W. Smith II (Mandy) and their children, Alyssa, Brooke and Ryan of Memphis, TN; daughter, Michelle L. Edwards (Kevin) and their children, Brandon, Jaclyn and Anna of Wingate, NC; sisters, Judy Allen of Carnesville, GA and Robin Creasman of Marshville; brother, Steven Smith of Monroe.

Morgan & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Smith.
