Marshville – Mrs. Dorothy Joann Beadle Stroud Smith, 96, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Atrium Health – Union.  Born July 25, 1929, in Chester County, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Harry Beadle and Dorothy Fest Beadle. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Bill and Don Beadle and a son, Michael Dee Stroud.

A funeral service to celebrate the life Joann will be 11 AM Thursday, April 9, 2026, from Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 in the sanctuary on Thursday.

Those left to cherish her memory included her children, Scott Stroud (Sharon), Linda Brown (Wayne); daughter-in-law, Vaughn Stroud; grandchildren, Joshua Stroud (Brandy) Caleb Stroud (Niki), Daniel Stroud (Kristina), Jena Payne (Bryan), Stephanie Humston (Nathan), Kimberly Worsnop and Michael Stroud, Jr.; 14 great grandchildren.
