Marshville – Mrs. Joe Ann Watkins Thomas, 83, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Atrium Health - Union.  Born July 20, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Bunyan Watkins and Creola Belle Gainey Watkins Taylor.  She was also preceded in death by siblings, Fletcher Watkins, Bruce Watkins.

Funeral services will be private.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tammy Britt (Tim), Susan Preslar, Billy Thomas (Faye); her special friend, Bobby Morton; siblings, Lonnie Watkins (Sue), Frances Harrington, and Earlene Thomas (Curtis); Bobby's children, Joanne Groves (John), Buck Morton (Sherry), Maria Thomas, Robin Hunt (Fuller) and Angela Baker (Roy); grandchildren, Kadie Britt (Ked Byrd) and C.J. Thomas, other grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and many great grandchildren.
