Joey Lane Morgan, of Marshville, NC went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. He was born August 29, 1970 to the late Sam and Grovene Morgan. Joey loved the Lord and his family more than anything.
He is survived by his brother Steve Morgan (Pat) of Monroe, brother Emmett Morgan (Candy) of Marshville, and his sister Pat Hargett (Mitch) also of Marshville. Joey is also survived by four nieces, Wendy Booth (David), Angie Jones (Mike), Lisa Chapman (Shane), Kristina Stroud (Daniel) and three nephews David Morgan (Buffy), Matt Witmore (Dusti) and Jeromy Witmore (Jessica). He was loved by a big family of great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Joey also loved his Lake Monroe Group home family.
Joey loved life more than anyone else we've ever known. He loved people and never met a stranger. His unconditional love and faith was something to be admired. He never hesitated to express his love. He greeted everyone with a big hug and a smile. Everyone will remember the kisses and rubs on our heads as his way of displaying his affection. He was always the light in the room and was perfect in everyone's eyes who knew him. His smile and his infectious laugh will surely be missed. Joey was always the life of the party. He enjoyed social events, family celebrations and gatherings with friends. He loved eating out at restaurants. Every holiday or special occasion, Joey would want it to include a meal surrounded by those he loved. He especially enjoyed eating out for his birthdays because he was the center of attention and made sure the entire restaurant sang Happy Birthday really loud to him. He was a hard worker and proud of his job at UDI.
Due to Covid, the family will have a private graveside service for the immediate family and a memorial service to celebrate the life of Joey will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made In Joey's name to The Sunshine Class 801 S Hayne Street Monroe NC ℅ Central United Church who sponsors the social events Joey loved so much. Memorials can also be sent to The Special Olympics ( SpecialOlympics.org ) , the ARC ( donate.thearc.org ) or a charity of your choosing in Joey's memory.
