Mr. John Dennis Rollins, 82, passed away Thursday the 17th of April, 2014 at CMC Union. He was born on September the 24th, 1931 in Union County to the late John Clegg and Sadie Eubanks Rollins. John Dennis graduated from Marshville High School in 1949. Following high school he graduated from the Greensboro School of Watchmaking. Immediately upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably for 3 years. Following his service to his country he opened John D. Rollins Jewelerâ??s in Marshville which he owned and operated for 23 years. John Dennis then worked as a supervisor at Etri and Springs Mills until his retirement. Funeral Services will be 2pm Saturday the 19th of April, 2014 in the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Service. Interment will follow in the Marshville City Cemetery. John Dennis is survived by two sons: John Brian Rollins and his wife Elizabeth of Midlothian, Virginia and Robert Rollins and his wife Molly of Indian Trail. One daughter; Mrs. Jerilyn Dee Rollins Small and her husband Andy of Monroe. One sister Millicent Rollins of Charlotte. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Matthew Rollins, Magovern Rollins, Thomas Rollins, Rachel Rollins, Robbie Rollins and Andrew Small and his wife Kelsey.
