Mr. Johnny S. Helms, 73 of Marshville, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Atrium Health – Union.  Born May 31, 1950 in Union County, he was a son of the late Emmett and Dorothy Traywick Helms.  He was also preceded in death by sons, Michael and Chris Helms.

He was a farmer and poultry grower for all of his life.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory included his wife, Judy M. Helms; son, Brian Helms (Denise) grandchildren, Garrett Helms (Bethany) and Lakin Helms and her fiancée (Matt Wogan), Jeffery Helms (Casey), and Tyler Helms; great grandchildren, Hadleigh, Brooks, Dawson, and Lincoln Michael Helms; sister, Nina Shepherd (Gene).

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Johnny will be 2 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Hamilton Cross Roads Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Marshville City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, June 5, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Morgan & Son Funeral Home.
