Marshville - Mrs. Julia Margaret Hooper Griffin, 66, died Monday evening at Monroe Square Nursing Center. Born June 4 1947 in Cashiers, NC, she was a daughter of late Vernon and Edna Lanning Hooper. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Deana Helms. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 pm from the Monroe Deliverance Center, 3210 Secrest Shortcut Road, Monroe, NC. Julia is survived by sons, James Griffin of Marshville; Shannon Griffin of Monroe, Thomas Griffin of Winston Salem, NC and Terry Griffin of Florida; daughter, Patricia Miles of Monroe; sisters Mildred Presley of Waynesville, NC and Ruth Hooper of Waco Texas. 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
