Marshville – Mr. Kermit Edwards Thomas, 91, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at his home after a lengthy illness.  Born December 18, 1930 in Union County, he was a son of the late Brackey Floyd and Bessie Edwards Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Harold Thomas and Edsel Thomas and a sister Louise Wherry.

He was an Army Veteran and retired after 40 years of service to Sealtest Kraft Dairy.  After retiring in 1993 he moved back to Marshville where he enjoyed gardening, traveling and his grandkids.  A true family man, he dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Kermit will be 2 PM, Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Marshville City Cemetery with military honors.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 pm at Morgan & Son Funeral Home.

Those left behind to cherish Kermit's memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Martha Lowery Thomas; sons, Steve Edwards Thomas (Adrienne) and Michael Worth Thomas (Sherri); grandchildren, Christopher Thomas (Celeste), Zachary Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Jennifer Hollinghead (Lee), Amanda Cannaday and Christina Long (Jacob); great grandchildren, Kylee, Elijah and Isabella Thomas, Sabre, Curtis and Trace Hollinghead; sisters, Mary Smith and Carolyn DeMart; sister-in-law, Christine Thomas.
