Peachland – Mrs. Libby Burgess, 82, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home.  Born November 18, 1941, in Anson County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Strawn and Faye Horne Strawn. She was also preceded in death by sons, Randy, Scotty and Stacey Burgess.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved nothing more than spending time with her family.  She was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for 80 years.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Libby will be 11 AM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from the graveside of Horne Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the graveside.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 67 years, Zeke Burgess; sons, Wayne Burgess, Jerry Burgess (Angela) and Terry Burgess (Ginger); grandchildren, Joy Bliss (Bronson), Jonathan Burgess (Duffi), Glenn Burgess (Brandy), Cheryl Batykefer (John), Crystal Cooke (Rick), Jessica Burgess, Todd Burgess (Jennifer) and Randy Burgess (Jess); 12 great grandchildren.
