Monroe – Ms. Lucille L. Broome, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2022 after several years of declining health. She was born on September 9, 1929 to the late James Glenn and Chloe Gaddy Little. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Broome, infant son Randy, daughter-in-law, Lisa Broome, sister, Mable Ponds and brothers-in-law, Fred Oliver, Carson Ponds and Earl James.
She is survived by her sons, Edward Broome and Michael Broome (Audrey); granddaughters, Anna Craft and Alexandra Hoyle (Dylan); grandsons, Tim Charo and Daniel Charo (Joy); great granddaughters, Charlotte and Chloe Charo; Additional family includes sisters, Janice James and Rita Crawford (Fritz) and many cherished nieces and nephews. Mr. John Williams was a special friend who provided her with much love and companionship over the last several years.
Lucille was a lifelong resident of Union County spending most of her life as a homemaker. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was known for her love of cooking and entertaining and was the hostess for many dinner parties, bridal and baby showers.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Monroe, NC and loved worshipping with her church family.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Lucille will be 2 PM Friday, November 18, 2022 from the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private.
