Greenville, SC – Mrs. Mabel Thomas Traywick, formerly of Marshville, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at The Gables on Pelham in Greenville, SC.  Born April 14, 1928 in Union County, she was a daughter of the late George Howard Thomas and Elizabeth Chaney Thomas.  She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Clyde, who always called her Kid.

Mrs. Traywick, a dedicated member of the Eastern Star, loved to garden and sing in the choir in her lifelong church. She was the matriarch of the family and a true southern Lady, very gracious to all.  She retired after 23+ years with Duke Power.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mabel will be 11 AM Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 AM on Thursday in the church fellowship building.

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Robert "Robin" Traywick (Holly); grandchildren, Ryan Traywick (girlfriend, Erika) and Matthew Traywick (Amber); sister, Carolyn Griffin; a number of wonderful nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials made to Olive Branch Baptist Church cemetery fund, 8804 Hwy. 218 East, Marshville, NC 28103 or Traditions Hospice of Greenville, SC, via their website.
