Charlotte - Mable H. Carpenter, 86, passed away on May 17, 2021 in Charlotte, NC. She was born on January 20, 1935 in Marshville, NC to the late Charlie and Radie Preslar High.  Mable was married to Hobert "H.L" Carpenter for 53 years until his passing in 2009.

Mable was a talented Artist whose paintings and sketches won several local Art contests and competitions.  Her fashion sketches were used in newspaper advertisements for department stores in the Charlotte Observer.  She enjoyed fashion modeling in her younger days.

During her career years, Mable worked in cosmetic sales in Montaldo's, Ivey's and Dillard's at Southpark Mall.  She taught herself to type set and printed for magazines and brochures in the Charlotte area and for Charlotte Magazine.  She was the office manager for a prominent doctor in Charlotte and assisted her husband, H.L. with government contract work in Fayetteville, NC for several years. Mable was a compassionate person. She volunteered in Nursing Homes and cared for many homeless cats.

Mable Carpenter is survived by her sister, Patricia (Trish) Stegall and her husband Jerry of Marshville.  Her niece, Terri Beeson (Joe) and nephew Jody Stegall (Jennifer) and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mable will be 11 AM Friday, May 21, 2021 by the graveside of Marshville City Cemetery with visitation to follow by the grave.
