Mrs. Margaret Smith Ashcraft, 94 of Marshville passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her home.  Born November 3, 1930, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Clegg Clarence Smith and Ethel Lee Marze Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband JB in 2021 after 67 years of marriage and siblings, Billy Smith, Mary Lee Moses and Carolyn Price.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Margaret will be 11 AM Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Gilboa Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 on Saturday in the church fellowship building.

Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Mr. Ronnie Ashcraft (Dede), Randy Ashcraft (Leslie) and Kent Ashcraft (Beverly); grandchildren: Jordan, Joseph and Nathan Ashcraft, Nicole Ashcraft-Bellor and Matthew Ashcraft; great-grandchildren, Connor, Miles and Sadie Ashcraft; siblings, Sylvia Price and Shirley Rorie.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tracy Benton, Trish Lilly, Debbie Elliott, and Dana Evans.

The family suggests memorials be made to Gilboa United Methodist Church, 5515 Gilboa Road, Marshville, NC  28103.
