Marshville - Mrs. Marie Chaney, 80, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Atrium Health in Monroe.  Born October 22, 1939 in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Alexander Franklin Moore and Mary Connell Moore.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Ray Griffin Chaney and two sons, Ray, Jr. and Richard Chaney.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Marie will be 2 PM on Monday at Fairfield Community Church with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the graveside.

Mrs. Chaney is survived by a daughter, Kathy Deese and her husband Greg; sons, Chris Chaney and his wife Christina and Kevin Chaney and his wife Sheila; grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Ines) and Gilbert (Betty) Moore; several nieces and nephews.
