Obituary

Peachland - Marion Sampson Baker went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday morning 5/30/18 after an 18-year battle with cancer. He was a US Army veteran and took great pride in his country. An avid gardener who loved being outdoors. But above all else, he was a Godly, family man who provided, loved, and cherished the time he spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Eva Baker, sister Nezzie Stroud.
A funeral to celebrate the life of Marion will be 11 AM Saturday from Morgan & Son Chapel with burial to follow in the Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He is survived by his loving wife Pat Baker of the home, daughter, Gay Baker, Apex, NC; sons, Robert Baker (Missy) of Wingate, NC, and Brandon Baker (Andrea) of Unionville, NC. Grandchildren, Donnie, Matthew, Sarah, Savannah, Grace, Kylie & Isabella. Siblings: Jessie Harrington (Cary) of Polkton, Thomas Baker (Renelda) of Marshville, Eva West of Georgia, Derlene Murphy (David) of Indian Land, SC, Lanny Baker of Wadesboro, NC & Kay Threadgill of Monroe.
