Peachland - Mary Lee Simpson Thomas, 89, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Autumn Care in Marshville. Born June 11, 1925 in Union County, she was a daughter of the late William and Ila Purser Simpson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Gordon Thomas, sister, Adelaide Nevison, brothers, Wilbert Lewis Simpson, Carrol Simpson, Joe Simpson and John Vann Simpson.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mary Lee will be 10 AM Monday from the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 9-10 am at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by sons, Walter Gordon Thomas, Jr. of Marshville, William Bruce Thomas and Ralph Edward Thomas both of Olive Branch Community; daughters, Frances Kay Alsburg of Anaheim, California and Ruby Lynne Moore of Browns Summit, NC; sister, LaNelle Phillips of Marshville; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
