Obituary

Mr. Max V. Griffin 82, passed away April the 11th, 2016 at CMC Union. He was the son of the late Fred M and Eunice Rushing Griffin. He was a retired home builder and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral Services will be 2pm Saturday the 16th of April, 2016 at Freedom Baptist Church. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Fountain Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Sarah C. Griffin. His children: Terry Griffin and his wife Linda of Peachland, Fred Griffin and his wife Annette and Cary Griffin and his wife Lisa of Marshville, Gary Griffin and his wife Spring of Waxhaw, Tammy G. Nantz and her husband Robert of Mooresville, and Tina G. Stevenson and her husband Joe of Millingport. Step-children: Donna Ballard and her husband Terry of Sharon, S.C., James Hargett of Marshville and Joyce Mullis and her husband Jeff of Monroe. Brothers: Cecil B. Griffin and Keith Griffin and his wife Phyllis all of Marshville. Sister; Peggy Duncan and her husband Wayne of Monroe. Grandchildren: Daniel Griffin, Lindsay Bryant, David Nantz, Lauren Nantz, Brooke Wood, Meegan Griffin, Emily Winfrey, Ashley Forsyth, Justin Griffin, Brittany Griffin, Nikki Crump, Amanda Stevenson, and Jonathan Stevenson. Step-grandchildren: Tausha Benton, Joshua Ballard, Ashley Mullis, Gene Mullis, Kyle Lane, Reba Hargett, Tyler Hargett, and Austin Hargett. 9 great-grandchildren.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the Fountain Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund
