Marshville - Mr. Max Leon Williams, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at his home. Born July 16, 1941, he was a son of the late George W. and Fettie Thomas Williams.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Purser Williams, grandsons: Hunter Williams and Randy Smith, son-in-law, Brent Kiker, brothers, Ned, Ted and George Williams. Max owned & operated Williams Trucking, Inc. for over 30 years.  He also raised chickens for Perdue Farms for 31 years and was their top producer many times as a grower.  As all you chicken farmers know, 'it takes a tough man to grow a tender chicken', this was our dad.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Max will be 11 AM Saturday from the graveside of Godwin Family Cemetery.  The family will greet friends following by the grave.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Debra Smith (Bill), Randy Williams (Dawn), Annette Kiker, Steven Williams and Wesley Williams; grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Colby Kiker, Payton Kiker, Brandy McCray, Gracie Smith (Justin) and Blake Williams; great grandchildren, Walker Hartsell, Ragan McCray, Baby Smith due in May; siblings: Flossie Russell (Cecil), Sarah Jones (Carl), Pauline Pope, Judy Godwin (Larry); sister-in-law, Sandra Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Many special people deserve thanks for loving and supporting Max through his battle with Alzheimer's.  His family is deeply grateful to Sharon Almond, Terri Runyan, Rosemary Jones and Dr. Edward Knish.
