Charlotte – Millicent Anne Rollins, 96, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at Stratford Manor. Born September 5, 1929, in Union County, she was the daughter of the late John Clegg Rollins and Sadie Eubanks Rollins. She was also preceded in death by brother, John Dennis Rollins.
She graduated from Marshville High School in 1947 and WC (UNC-G) in 1951 with a BS in Business Administration. She began her career working for Westbrook Insurance Company. In 1953, she went to work for Celanese Corporation and worked there until she retired in 1992. In retirement, she volunteered for 20 years at the Myers Park Library in Charlotte, NC. She was also a strong supporter of the Charlotte Rescue Mission and a diehard Carolina Tarheel fan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlotte. She was an enthusiastic student of history and a passionate cat lover all her life. Even though she lived in Charlotte for 50+ years, she maintained her many connections in Marshville.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Millicent will be held 11 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025, from the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Marshville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 – 10:45 at the funeral home.
Those left to cherish her memory include her niece Jerilyn Small (Andy); nephews, Brian Rollins (Beth) and Robert Rollins (Molly); great nephews, Andrew Small, Matthew Rollins, Thomas Rollins (Emily), Robbie Rollins; great nieces, Magovern Rollins and Rachel Rollins; one great grand niece and two great grand nephews; and a dear friend and former sister-in-law, Ledale Rollins.
