Norm
Voelzow
Jul 28, 1943 — Jan 12, 2024
Mr. Norman Voelzow, 80, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at Atrium Health in Charlotte. Born July 28, 1943 in Cleveland, OH, he was a son of the late Norman Harold Voelzow and Alice Marie Smith Voelzow. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gene Voelzow and his sister, Mary Ellen Kinkopf.
In his early years, Norm attended Blessed Sacrament parochial school and later graduated from West Technical High School, both in Cleveland. He served in the National Guard for six years.
He worked for Eaton Corporation in Cleveland - Air Flex Division for many years during which time, he was transferred to Charlotte, NC. Some years later, he met Bev and they were married on April 25, 1987. From the time they were married, they worked together as a team — he traveled, and she worked in the home office. They moved to Wingate, NC in 1994.
His work with Ludeca, Inc. in Miami, FL involved selling laser shaft alignment systems for industrial rotating equipment - demonstrating the equipment and providing training for the systems purchased. He trained hundreds of mechanics in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and eastern Tennessee. He so much enjoyed his work and meeting people. With his mechanical skills and insight, he worked with computers, almost all electronics, and cars. He lived a full life and loved his God and his family. He enjoyed people and loved to be entertaining.
At home, he fed birds and deer and had fun with the pets, especially his beloved Fritz who went with him in the car almost everywhere.
His family loved him much. He will always be remembered and greatly missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Bev Campbell Voelzow; his daughter, Susie Twomey (husband, Bob and children: Zach Twomey, Josh Twomey); his son, Mike Voelzow (children: Grace Voelzow, Gavin Voelzow, Micah Mack); and his daughters, Alison Voelzow, and Lauren Clark (husband, Lyndon and children: Henry Clark, Max Clark, and Vivienne Clark). He was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Voelzow and his sister, Mary Ellen Kinkopf.
