Mr. Ottis E. Smith 81, passed away on December the 27th, 2019 at Atrium Union. He was born on July the 5th, 1938 to the late Carl and Georgia Baker Smith. Ottis was a retired poultry farmer as well as a heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter; Mrs. Pamala Smith Moore.
Funeral Services will be 3pm Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church.  The family will greet friends in the church sanctuary one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Mrs. Patsy E. Smith of Monroe. Two children: Mrs. Sonja S. Couick and her husband Darrell of Monroe, and Mr. Mike Smith and his wife Stephanie of Waxhaw. His grandchildren: Tiffany Isaman, Kendra Everett, Chad Stack, Crystal Hill, Blake Couick, Sommer Belk, Casey Smith, Krystle McGee, and Meghan Sellers. Great-grandchildren: Crewson Smith, Beckett Smith, Shelby Belk, Maeley Belk, Saddie Belk, Jayden McGee, Kingston McGee, Riley Hill, Brooklyn Hill, Gavin Hill, C.J. Everett, Alexis Medlin, Hailey Medlin, Hanna Stack, Garrett Stack, Paris Isaman, Landon Isaman, Logan Isaman, Dax Sellers, and Milo Sellers.  He is also survived by his brothers: Mr. Edwin Helms of Matthews and Mr. Richard Smith of Kansas City, MO.
