Monroe – Mrs. Patsy Edwards Smith, age 80, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2020 at Carrington Place in Matthews, NC. She was born on Jan 11, 1940 in Charlotte, NC to Wayne Franklin Edwards and Janie Moore Edwards of Wingate. She was preceded in death by her husband Ottis in December 2019 and daughter Pamela Smith Moore. Ottis and Patsy recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
She attended school in Wingate N.C. She worked as a floral designer displaying her talents for all to enjoy in life. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her faith and her family meant everything to her. Patsy spent her life helping others succeed, and being there for the ones she loved. She was loved by anyone that knew her. And you were a better person when you followed her direction. She loved the Lord, she loved her family, and she loved life.
We all miss her. But she has her wings, and her journey is done. I know the Lord said to her, "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
She is survived by two children, Mike Smith and his wife Stephanie, Sonja Couick and her husband Darrell; 9 grandchildren, Casey Smith, Sommer Smith Belk, Crystal Couick Hill, Blake Couick, Tiffany Stack Isaman, Kendra Stack Everett , Chad Stack . Krystle McGee, Meghan Sellers; 21 great- grandchildren, Shelby Belk, Maeley Belk, Saddie Belk, Crew Smith , Beckett Smith, Riley Hill Brooklyn Hill, Gavin Hill, Alexis Medlin, Hailey Medlin, C.J. Everett, Hannah Stack, Savannah Stack, Garrett Stack, Landon Isaman, Logan Isaman, Paris Isaman. Jayden Mcgee, Kingston McGee, Dax Sellers, Milo Sellers.
The family will have a memorial service 3 PM Sunday at Camellia Gardens, 2608 Doster Road, Monroe, NC 28112. A graveside funeral service to celebrate the life of Patsy will be 10 AM Monday at the Wingate City Cemetery. The family will greet friends following by the graveside. Mrs. Smith will be open for public viewing on Sunday from 9 AM – 4 PM at Morgan & Son Funeral Home.
