Marshville – Mrs. Paula Gurley Benton, 68, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at her home. Born July 17, 1954 in Union County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Willie Beulah Helms Gurley.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be private.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ronald Benton; son, Shandon Benton; daughters, Shawna Benton (Mark Cornett), Sheena Benton Coble (Terry) and Selena Benton; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Gail Knight (Jerry), Gypsy Helms, Dixie Helms and Wilson Gurley (Judy).
