Marshville - Mr. Peary Neal Brooks, 81, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at CMC-Union in Monroe. Born November 29, 1932 in Union County, he was a son of the late Carnie Benjamin and Leona Helms Brooks. He was preceded in death by, brothers, Keith, John Van and Addison Brooks; sisters, Lillian Tetro and Nelson Baucom Mullis; and his wife, Mary Jewel Kennedy Brooks in 2002. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Peary will be held Tuesday at 2 PM from the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Marshville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Brooks is survived by; son, Dennis Brooks and wife Libby of Monroe; daughters, Theresa B. Scott and husband Keith "Scotty" of New Salem and Sheila B. McManus and husband Bernard of Concord, NC; sisters, Mary Green and Joyce Philemon of New Salem, NC; grandchildren, Halie Scott, Melissa B. Griffin, Breanne B. Scearce, Brian and Jason McManus; great grandchildren, Jeff, Ashley and Malayna Griffin, Jeffery and Brook Scearce, Lukus and Aiden McManus.
