Mrs. Phyllis Ann Jowers Sikes,77 of Peachland, passed away June 23, 2017 at Monroe Rehabilitation Center.  She was born in Union County on May 31, 1940 to Daisy L. Jowers and the late James A. (Jim) Jowers. She was a retired machinist from Yale Norton with over 20 years of service. She loved raising large gardens and going to yard sales.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Rodney D. Sikes.

A graveside service will be 2 PM Tuesday at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery on Hasty Rd. in Peachland conducted by the Rev. Tim Helms and Rev. Tony High.  The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6-8 PM at Morgan & Son and other times at the home of Ricky and Denise.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Ricky M. Sikes and his wife Denise; daughter, Regina S. McClendon and her husband Rick; daughter-in-law, Angela E. Sikes; grandchildren, Ashley S. Tarlton, Jarrod Sikes, and Pamela S. Hanson; great grandchildren, Jordan, Bailey and Aubree; sister, Edith J. Collins; brother, Jimmy Jowers.

Special thanks to friends Harold and Sheila Harward for their love and care during her illness.

She was a member at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Church at 1591 Hasty Rd. Peachland, N.C. 28133.
