Mrs. Rachel Tarleton Mullis, 72, passed away on Saturday the 7th of October, 2017 at Hospice House of Union County. She was born in Union County on October the 10th, 1944 to the late John Belk and Vera Lee Baucom Tarleton. She was also preceded in death by her infant son Richard Dale Mullis.
She retired from Dun & Bradstreet after 39 years of service as an Administrative Assistant. Rachel was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for over 35 years where she taught Sunday School, served as Treasurer, and a member of both the Hospitality Committee and Bereavement Committee. Rachel also enjoyed travelling many places with her husband Ray and her family. She was an avid bird watcher and devoted many hours learning about them. But most of all she enjoyed spoiling all of her grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 2pm Monday the 9th of October, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Sunday at Morgan & Son Funeral Home
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mr. Ray Mullis of Marshville. Two sons: Danny Ray Mullis and his wife Ginger of Unionville, and Gregory Belk Mullis and his wife Amber of Oakboro. Her grandchildren: Justin Mullis, Todd Mullis and his wife Lauren, Jennifer Mullis, and Lucas Mullis. Step-grandchildren: Morgan Funderburk, Shelby Funderburk, and Jonathan Carr. Two sisters: Mrs. Nellie Drye of New Salem and Mrs. Johnnie Bernabe of Mineral Springs.
The family has requested memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
