Marshville – Mrs. Renelda Jane Haigler Baker, 78 passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at Autumn Care in Marshville.  Born May 2, 1943 in Union County, she was a daughter of the late Ajar Clay Haigler and Effie Tomberlin Haigler. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Willard and Dennis Haigler.  She loved to cook and sew.  She was legendary for her carrot cake winning awards at the Boll Weevil Festival in Marshville.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be 11 AM Thursday, September 30, 2021 from the Faulks Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:45- 10:45 in the church's fellowship building.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband, Thomas Baker; daughter, Pam Cook; son, Jeff Baker and his wife Tammy; grandchildren, Jessica Lucas and her husband David, Amanda Sullivan and her husband Michael, Andrew Baker and his wife Jessica, Madison Zitlalpopoca and her husband Miguel and Emily Baker; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Lawson Baker and Grady Sullivan; siblings, Terry Haigler, Lane Haigler and Edward Haigler.

The family suggests memorials made to Faulks Baptist Church, 2234 Faulks Church Road, Marshville, NC  28103.
