Mr. Robert "Bob" Marion Thomas, 89, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018. Born December 19, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, he was a son of the late Onas and Susie Tucker Thomas. After graduating from Burnsville High School, he served in the US Navy, Pacific Fleet, during Korean War Conflict. He was widowed by his wife Johnsie in November of 2011. He was preceded in death by siblings, Delane "OD" Thomas, Mabel Price, Doris Watkins and Barbara Sue Turner. He was a former member of New Home Baptist Church for many years.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday, December 30, 2018 from the Olive Branch Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-3 in the church fellowship building.
Mr. Thomas is survived by a son, Michael Thomas and wife, Sonya Cuthbertson Thomas of Indian Trail; five wonderful grandchildren, Jenna, Christa, Leah, Robert, and Alyssa Thomas of Indian Trail; brothers, Henry "HC" Thomas and Roland Thomas, many nieces and nephews
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial be made to the Olive Branch Baptist Church, 8804 Highway 218 East, Marshville, NC 28103.
