Mr. Roger Lee Carpenter, 70, of Peachland, NC, went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 30, 2024 at Atrium Health Pineville. He was born December 27, 1953 to the late Hazel Carpenter and Elizabeth Grace Williams Carpenter.

Roger was recently reunited with his church family at Freedom Baptist Church because he loved the Lord and knew that he wanted this to be his resting place.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father and Papa. His family has many wonderful memories to share and will spend a lifetime enjoying stories together. Many of these stories will no doubt be about his Facebook posts among many others. In the last few weeks his family remembers precious days together. Among them his wife of 42 years will always remember their trip to the beach to celebrate one last time. His family and friends will always remember him with love.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Carolyn Sistar Carpenter; his children, Shanda Lotharp (Norman), Heather Helms, Destiny Barrett (Kenan), Desirae Barrett and Derek Carpenter; sisters, Jean Taylor and Patricia Keefer; numerous nieces and nephews and a special God-grandson, Jordan Helms.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 2, 2024 from 5-7 from Morgan & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Roger will be 2 PM Tuesday at Freedom Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
