Ronda
Staton
Sep 12, 1953 — Jan 17, 2025
Marshville - Ronda Manus Staton, 71, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, at her home. Born September 12, 1953, in Union County, she was a daughter of the late James Wayne Manus and Ellen Rowell Manus. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Davis Staton in 2018 and her siblings, Timothy Manus, Darrell Manus and Teresa Davenport.
Ronda was first and foremost a Christian. She lived her life as God would want her to live it. She prayed about everything for direction, comfort, and thankfulness. It was evident by the many lives she touched. She gave to her community and her family in any way she could. She used her beautiful voice to praise the Lord, while singing in the choir, at weddings and other events in her community.
She was known for her laughter, which could be heard from across a room and a smile that would brighten the darkest days. She was always there with an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on. She had a passion for creativity from school projects, hair color, and baking cakes. Many of her best years were spent in the salon serving her clients and creating lifelong friendships.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ronda will be 10 AM, Monday, January 20, 2025, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 4694 NC 205, Oakboro, NC 28129 with burial to follow in the Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday evening from 4 – 6 PM at Morgan & Son Funeral Home.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Karl D. Staton (Marlayna); daughter, April Rachelle Staton-Faura (Christian); grandchildren, Kayla Faura, Khloe Faura and Arya Staton; many nieces and nephews; aunts, Joyce Harward and Betty Jean Rowell, Virginia Rowell, Jerri Rowell Pallet and Len; brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas "Pug" Staton (Kathy) Donna Staton Helms (Tony) and Doug Drye.
