Marshville – Mr. Ronnie Doyle Whitley, 69, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Hospice House in Monroe. Born August 23, 1948 in Union County, he was a son of the late Norman Clyde Whitley and Faye Simpson Whitley. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Norma Lynn Williams and Greg Whitley. He was retired owner of Whitley Lawn and Garden of Monroe for over 40 years.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ronnie will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 1 PM from the East Church - First Baptist Church Indian Trail in Marshville. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Entombment will be at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mr. Whitley is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sue Mills Whitley of the home; son, Chad Whitley and his wife Jennifer of Marshville; daughter, Tiffany Mills and her husband Matthew also of Marshville; grandchildren, Seth and Kristina Whitley and Brett and Tyler Mills; sisters, Peggy Fowler and Martha Rushing both of Monroe.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC or East Church, 6140 West Marshville Blvd, Marshville, NC 28103.
