Dateline – Polkton

Mr. Roy S. Carpenter 82, passed away Wednesday the 25 ^th of January, 2017 at CMC Main.  He was born in Anson County on August the 10 ^th , 1934 to the late Jodie and Estelle Beachum Carpenter.  Mr. Roy was a retired farmer and a long-time guide at Devil's Rib Hunting Preserve.  He was preceded in death by his wife Nell Godwin Carpenter, daughter-in-law Karen, his siblings: Lucille Horne, Polly Nance, Aileen Martin, Howard Carpenter, Ed Carpenter, John Carpenter, Jerry Carpenter, and Greg Carpenter.

Funeral Services will be 2pm Sunday the 29 ^th of January, 2017 in the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Polkton.

Mr. Roy is survived by his son Mr. Ricky R. Carpenter and his wife Tracie of Polkton.  One grandson Mr. Nick Carpenter and his wife Courtney of Eastover, S.C. and granddaughter Alyssa Boone of Polkton.  He is also survived by his brother Mr. Charles Carpenter and his wife Jeanette, and sister Betsy Vanhoy all of Polkton.  The family would also like to thank Tonya Laney who provided loving care for Mr. Roy and whom we consider to be a member of our family.
