Mr. Roy Craig Wright, Sr., 76, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at CMC in Charlotte. Born January 15, 1941 in Anson County, he was the only child of the late Maynard "Tony' Wright and Rosa Mae Taylor Wright. A lifelong resident of Anson County, he graduated from Polkton High School and then married Barbara Bricker Wright. Roy served a term in the Air Force after graduating high school.
A graveside service will be held 4 pm Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Williams Cemetery in Polkton with Rev. Curtis Williams officiating. The family will receive friends following by the grave.
Mr. Wright is survived by two sons, Dr. Danny Lee Wright and his wife Meri Beth of Peachland, Roy Craig Wright, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Troy, NC; a daughter, Angela "Cissy" Griffin of Peachland; grandchildren, Jordan Lee Wright, Liberty Beth Wright, Madeline Taylor Wright, Davis William Wright, Melanie Wright Coates and her husband Sam, Dalton Wright, Miranda Wright and Tori Griffin Ross and her husband Jay; great grandchildren, Deacon, Mason and Beckett Coates.
Roy's family can never fully express their appreciation for the overwhelming love and support they have experienced over the past few weeks with passing of both Barbara and Roy in such a short period of time. The family would also like to thank Mr. Archie Crowder for his friendship and assistance to not only Roy, but our entire family for many years.
The family suggests memorials made to Brown Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 4210 Hwy 742 North Wadesboro, NC 28170.
