Mrs. Ruby Florence Williams Marsh, age 83, of Marshville, North Carolina, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 21, 2013. She was born in Anson Co. on February 27, 1930, to the late Fred and Ada Griffin Williams. Ruby married her childhood sweetheart Thomas James Pinkney Marsh, Sr. in June of 1948. Tommy preceded her in death on May 21, 2003. Also preceding Ruby in death are her siblings: Virginia Haney, Frances Brantley, Susan Williams, John Williams and Bright Williams. Ruby loved children and children loved Ruby. Her greatest joys in life came from her roles as Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she nurtured. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Marsh Huston and husband David of Hudson, OH, and Cynthia Ellen Marsh of Wingate, NC; two sons, Thomas James Pinkney Marsh, Jr and wife Judy of Marshville, NC, and John Charles Marsh of Charlotte, NC; two grandsons, James Monroe Marsh, of Marshville, NC, and Micah Andrew Bucey of Brooklyn, NY; three granddaughters, Jessica Marsh Dawson and husband Ryan of Charlotte, NC, Jerusha Noel Marsh of Charlotte, NC, and Lydia Marsh Kokoshvili and husband George of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Riley Williams and wife Helen of Charlotte, NC; and seven great grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Ruth, Jackson, Luke, Anastasia, and Clara. Family and friends will gather Saturday, August, 24, 2013, at Morgan and Sons in Marshville, NC, to celebrate the life and legacy of Ruby Marsh. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Gilboa United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family has requested memorials be made to: Lawyers Springs Primitive Baptist Church or to Gilboa United Methodist Church.
