I Corinthians 15:58: "Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord." Ruth Edwards Stegall , age 92, went to be with the Lord on March 27th at Autumn Care of Marshville.  Ruth was born April 23rd, 1924 to Thomas Clyde and Blanche Staton Edwards of Marshville.  A wonderful homemaker, southern lady, and Proverbs 31 woman, she also enjoyed 15 years as a sales associate for Belk of Monroe retiring at the age of 75.  A lover of people, Ruth was an eternal optimist who chose to see the good in others and in every circumstance.  She had an unwavering faith that was grounded in a promise from God delivered in the form of his Son, Jesus Christ. He was her hope and her peace and she is now serving Him with great joy for all of eternity.

Ruth was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 49 years, Hubert Stegall, beloved grandson, Scott Stegall, brothers Blair Edwards, Earl Edwards, Max Edwards, Billy Edwards, and sister, Elizabeth Edwards Williams.

She is survived by her three children, Jerry Stegall (Patricia), Eddie Stegall (Wynne), Lynne Stegall Hunt (Keith), and grandchildren: Terri Beeson (Joe), Jody Stegall (Jennifer), Andy Stegall (Christy), Cam Stegall (Marcia), Chris Stegall (Gina), Katherine Drye (Scott), Jon Hunt (Rachel), Will Hunt and 13 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4:00pm on March 30th from the Fairfield Community Church with Pastor Scott Baucom and Rev. Tony Bradley officiating.  Burial will follow at Marshville City Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 3:00-4:00 preceding the funeral.

The family would like to thank the staff of Autumn Care of Marshville for the care and respect they showed to Ruth for the past nine years.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Fairfield Community Church.
