Marshville – CWO2 Rev. Marvin "Sandy" Alexander Rogers, Jr. USN (Ret), 73, passed away, Friday, January 20, 2023 at Pruitt Health Union Pointe in Monroe.  Born June 6, 1949 in Mecklenburg County, he was a son of the late Marvin Alexander Rogers, Sr. and Elaine Gardner Rogers. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Rogers Wilson.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Rev. Rogers will be 12 Noon, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Fairfield Community Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 11-11:45 in the church fellowship building.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Jeannean Rogers; daughter, Danielle Rogers; son Marvin A. "Lex" Rogers, III (Emily); granddaughter, Anna Elaine Rogers; grandson Russell Alexander Rogers; sister, Myra Rogers Turk; brother-in-law, Jim Wilson; sisters-in-law, Ramona Ross, Judy Short and Frances Crosby; many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials made to Fairfield Community Baptist Church, PO Box 726, Marshville, NC  28103.

The family would like to thank the staff at Atrium-Union, Atrium - Concord NE and Pruitt Health Union Point for their care during his sickness.
