Mrs. Sara Ross Thomas, 92, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at her home.  Born February 10, 1933, in Anson County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Ross and Adeline "Miss Addie" Caudle Ross.  She was also preceded in death by siblings, Fred Ross, Hoover Ross, Charles Ross, Hazel Lee, Louise Caudle, Virginia Younts, Keith Ross, Graham Ross, Malene Beachum, Margaret McNair, Irvin Ross, Wendell Ross, Joe Ross and Doris Hinson

She was an avid crafter, gardening and canning.  She loved volunteering at the Burnsville Learning Center and serving on mission trips where the team built many churches and homes. She played the piano for 50 + years at her church.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Sara will be 3 PM, Friday, September 12, 2025, from the graveside of Fountain Hill UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service by the gravesite.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 73 years, Joe Frank Thomas, Sr.; daughter, Sarah Yvonne Burr, sons, Joe Frank Thomas, Jr. (Carol) and John Gregory Thomas (Berry), 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Fountain Hill UMC Building fund, c/o Don Horne, 2152 Cappadocia Church Road, Peachland, NC  28133.
