Mrs.  Sarah Pope Troutman, 88, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Meadowview Terrace in Wadesboro.  Born May 27, 1935 in Ansonville, NC to the late Maude and Erie Pope, she was the oldest of six children.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Troutman and siblings, Ellen Morton, Eunice Connolly and Johnnie Pope.

She graduated from Ansonville High School and attended Wingate College.  Sarah's main joy in life was sewing.  Most people in Fountain Hill have something made or mended by Sarah.  She worked for a short time at Ellie's Bridal Shop in Monroe doing alterations. Sarah's next joy was her family and the annual Thanksgiving/Pope Reunion.  She loved them all and will now get to join them in their Heavenly home. She loved her church and was an active member in many positions through the years.

Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Teresa Davis (Dale) and Sandy Troutman; grandchildren, Lauren Davis and Jared Davis; and a great grandson, Mason; sisters, Nancy Jones and Ruth Williams.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Sarah will be 3 PM Sunday at New Home Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2-2:45 in the fellowship building.
