Monroe- Mrs. Shirley S. Simpson 84, passed away on Wednesday the 16th of January, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born in Union County on August the 23rd, 1934 to the late Floyd and Rose Helms Stegall. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 61 years, Mr. Bill M. Simpson. She was a retired food service specialist at Piedmont High School. She was devoted member of Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church for over 36 years.
Funeral Services will be 11am Saturday the 19th of January, 2019 at Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends 6pm-8pm, Friday evening, at Morgan & Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by her daughter Robin S. Helms and her husband Mike of Albemarle. Her two grandsons: Mr. W. Joseph Helms of Albemarle and Mr. Steven M. Helms of Kannapolis. She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Dean Wallace of Monroe and her brother Mr. Walter Stegall and his wife Tommie of Monroe.

The family would like to extend their thankfulness to the nurses and staff of Spring Arbor Assisted Living Memory Unit for their kindness, dedication and loving care of Mrs. Simpson.
