Dateline - Peachland Mr. Stancil Ray, 65 of Peachland died Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home. Born July 27, 1948 in Anson County, he was a son of Mildred Horne Ray and the late Raymond Stancil Ray. He was a member of the Beaver Dam Masonic Lodge #276. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Stancil will be held Thursday at 3 pm from the Deep Springs Baptist Church with a military burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside in the churchâ??s fellowship building. In addition to his mother, survivors include two brothers, E. Lynn Raye and his wife Sharon of Marshville and E. Neal Raye of Peachland; sisters, Diane Hargett and her husband Gerald of Monroe, Elaine Davis of Polkton and Deborah Davis of Peachland; long-time girlfriend, Dawn Hildreth of Polkton; uncle, Cresful Horne of Marshville; many nieces and nephews. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The Morgan & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Ray.
