Mrs. Polly Braswell, 86 of Wingate, NC died on September 16, 2013. Polly was born on September 15, 1927 in Chesterfield County, SC. She was the daughter of the late Charles Lee Hicks and the late Ethel McManus Hicks. Polly was a member of Faulks Baptist Church and was preceded in death by older brother, Charles Lee Hicks Jr., and younger brother Jimmy Hicks. She was also preceded in death by grandson, Lynn Little Braswell. Polly is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jack E. Braswell, and their two daughters, Jackie & David Costner of Greensboro, NC; Susan Annette Braswell of the home, and son, Eddie & Dana Braswell of Marshville, NC. Polly is also survived by grandson, Geoffrey Costner of Tampa, FL and sister, Lottie Hunter of Pageland, SC. Funeral Services will be 11am Wednesday the 18th of September, 2013 in the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home of Marshville. Interment will follow in the Faulks Baptist Church Cemetery The family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Stevenson of Novant Health Cardiovascular Institute of Monroe, and Dr. David Allison of Monroe Family Practice. Polly was instrumental in starting the "Trainable Center" in Union County, a school for handicapped and challenged children; as well as the starting of ARC in Union County.
