Mrs. Susie Horne Huntley, 99, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Hospice House in Monroe. Born July 2, 1914 in Anson County, she was a daughter of the late Roman Lester and Lydia Johnson Horne. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Susie will be held Sunday at 2pm by the graveside of Peachland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends following by the graveside. Mrs. Susie is survived by grandsons, L Huntley and Robert Joseph "Joe" Huntley both of Raleigh. The family suggests memorials to the American Alzheimerâ??s Association, c/o their web site.
