Suzy
Simpson
Jan 4, 1959 — Nov 9, 2022
Monroe - Suzanne "Suzy" Strawn Simpson, 63, passed away at the Hospice of Union County on Wednesday, November 9th surrounded by her family.
Born January 4th, 1959, Suzy was the daughter of Plydeane Strawn Tarlton (Jimmy) and the late Carroll Strawn. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronnie Simpson in May of this year.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Glenn Strawn (Anita), nephew, Ben Strawn (Shelly), niece, Anna Strawn, and great niece, Raelyn Strawn; special friends, Polly and Tommy Alexander and Donna McGuire.
Suzy was a devout Christian and an incredibly kind-hearted woman. She loved her family and friends and was very generous of heart, always putting others before herself. She was especially important to her niece and nephew who she treated as though they were her own children. She set an example for them by always giving her time and resources to those in need, and they will never forget the grace and kindness with which she carried herself.
In addition to caring for her family, Suzy loved to serve her community by volunteering at the Hospice of Union County in Monroe. She also loved animals and especially enjoyed the company of her cat, Elanor. Like her mother, she was an incredible cook and enjoyed trying new recipes for her family to enjoy. Her sense of humor could light up any room and she remained positive and encouraging to her family to the very end.
Suzy was so very loved and will be terribly missed. She leaves behind a family that will never be the same without her, but we take comfort in knowing that she has been united with our Savior in Heaven, and look forward to seeing her again one day in Glory.
A memorial service to celebrate Suzy's life will be held 2 PM Saturday at the Peachland Baptist Church with visitation prior from 1-1:45 in the church fellowship building.
