Mrs. Sylvia H. (Simpson) Bowen, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5th, 2016 at White Oak Manor of Charlotte after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on July 20th, 1939 in Anson County to the late Floyd and Sadie Thomas Horne. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles L. Simpson and Bobby Bowen. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Lattuca.
Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She was a retired beautician who made many friends throughout her career. Her kindness and love were evident in her doting on her grandchildren and her great nieces and nephews. Her sweet spirit will be incredibly missed.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home of Marshville, NC. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Interment will follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Peachland, NC.
Sylvia is survived by her son Ricky Simpson, his wife, Christine, and her two grandchildren, Will and Erin Simpson, all of Charlotte. She is also survived by her brother, Mr. Ronnie Horne and his wife Frankie of Marshville as well as several nieces and nephews.
