Mr. Tommy Bess, 66, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at his home in Marshville. Born December 26, 1954 in Richland County, SC, he was a son of the late Nell Hargett Bess.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wade Mills, Jr.

Tommy graduated from Forest Hills High School in 1973 and married his high school sweetheart in 1975. Over the years, he endured health conditions and he has faced each one with a positive attitude, courage and great faith.  He lived a simple life, one day at a time, and grateful for the years God blessed him with to enjoy his family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Tommy will be 11 AM, Friday, May 14, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church's fellowship building.

Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Smith Bess; son, Brad Bess and wife Kendra, and his expecting grandson, Caleb Tate Bess; brother, Ken "Doc" Bess, wife Debbie; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Mills.

The family would like to thank Dr. Amin, Dr. Fotiadis, Dr. Hart, and the staff at Metrolina Nephrology and Levine Cancer Center for caring for our loved one over the years.
