Mr. Thomas William “Tootie Bill” Hampton, Jr., 82 passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, at Atrium Health – Union. Born August 18, 1944, in Union County, he was the son of the late Thomas William Hampton, Sr. and Bertha Caroline Walters Hampton. He was also preceded in death by brother, Gary Hampton

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bill will be noon Monday, September 7, 2026, from the chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in Marshville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11- 11:45 at the funeral home prior to the service.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 60 years, Paulette Stegall Hampton; son, Mark Hampton (Tina); daughter, Claudia Griffin (Brett); grandchildren, Emma Jean Hampton (Addison), Bexley Hampton, Jovi Griffin, Killy Griffin, Bode Griffin.
