Mrs. Vanessa Shaw Quates, 63, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Atrium Health in Monroe.  Born July 18, 1961, in York County, SC she was a daughter of John Shaw and the late Betty Adams Abee.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Chris and a daughter, Carol.

She liked working in her yard. She also loved to fish and watch her hummingbirds in the summer.

Funeral services will be private.

Those left to cherish her memory include children, Chad Holcombe. grandsons, Malachi Godfrey, Liam Godfrey, Gaige Holcombe, Cylis Holcombe and Ethan Holcombe; siblings, Pam Gessner and Leigh Ragsdale; son-in-law, Kevin Godfrey.
